Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya KIRTARSH
KIRTARSH, a home for Special Children.
Link to HATI webpage
Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya KIRTARSH is a non-profitable home established to shelter and care for special and underprivileged children from all racial and religious background. The Home strives to provide vocational training, special education, shelter, food, medication and most important of all, LOVE to its dependents.
The Home, located at Bukit Beruntung, started out as a branch home to the Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah and was dedicated to a handful of children with learning or physical disabilities.
In 2005, KIRTARSH continued on its own under the wings of the dedicated husband and wife team, Mr. Manivannan and Judith, with the assistance of three employed staff. KIRTARSH is now a place where 47 underprivileged children and adults alike call their home. The residents of the Home ranges from children as young as 4years old with disabilities such as down syndrome, autism, slow learners, spastic, audio impairment to a 84year old lady suffering from dementia. The Home also currently houses a few children and old folks without disabilities who are either orphaned or left behind by their families.
The People Behind KIRTARSH
KIRTARSH was founded by a man driven by a compelling sense of compassion. Mr. Manivannan is an electrician by profession and was inspired to start KIRTARSH by his late brother, the founder of the Taman Megah home and an admirable man who had lived with the paralytic polio disease.
The one and a half storey bangalow premises in Bukit Beruntung where the Home is built belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Ng, the employers of Mr. Manivannan, whom had graciously offered for the Home's use. Last year Mr. and Mrs. Ng have offered their adjacent bangalow premises to house the increasing number of dependents of the Home. Please find out how you can help or contribute to this new set up by clicking here. Every little help counts!
Mrs. Manivannan (Judith), the loving wife of Mr. Manivanan, is the full time administrator of the Home. Judith was a pre-school teacher and had many years of experience with tutoring and caring for disabled children. Their own son, [name] aged 5, can be seen daily at the Home running among and playing with the other residents of the Home who are his friends and family.
KIRTARSH has three full time staff dedicated to house keeping and day to day care for the disabled residents. But with 47 people under their care, the Home would be more than grateful for volunteers to help the children in their school work and to provide hobby classes eg art and craft classes, music classes or general help around the Home.

I have tried on numerous occasions to contact the home regarding the needs required.
I need someone to contact me urgently as I am raising funds for the Home. i am from the UK and have done several campaigns to raise funds for Orphanages and feel this home is worthy of my efforts however they do not reply to my emails. I have called but nobody speaks English.
i fear they are going to lose out on this.
